What you need to know about drapery hardware: Dubai Curtains
Drapery rod hardware is not only a fashion accent for your room, it’s also functional. There are many variables to consider when choosing your hardware.
Dubai Curtains discussing some tips for choosing the right drapery rods
Avoid mass-market hardware
Custom rods should hang custom draperies on the hardware, which is very different from the mass market stored hardware you see in stores. With custom droppers on the mass market hardware, the rod sags and brackets bend because they cannot support the weight of the custom drapers. Custom draperies carry more weight because of the high-quality fabrics and linings and the more fabric color for a panel.
Usually, you should not use telescoping rods that have problems with the telescope, and the rings will block the bump when you try to open or close the draperies.
Mass market rings are often too large for their accessory rod and have a low loop or clip, which can cause the draperies to twist and misalign. Mass market brackets are adjustable, which may seem convenient but instead make them worse, and are not as attractive with all their screws and slots. Designer curtains will fit perfectly into the width of your window
Avoid mass-market hardware
You will want to determine if your draperies are functional or stationary based on how they are used.
If you do not need draperies to close, consider small rods on either side of a large window for stationery panels. For operable draperies where you can open or close panels, consider a ringless cordless track rod for ease of operation. This rod works easily by pulling on hidden wands.
Select the size of the dropper rod
Choose a rod that works with the scale of the room and the weight of the draperies. Thin rod hardware up to 1 ”in diameter can only support full or lightweight droppers. Medium diameters ranging from 1 1/8 ”to 1 7/8” are commonly used for custom droppers. Larger diameters of 2 ”-3” are best used with high ceilings and dramatic two-story treatment to suit the proper ceiling.
Select the style of the drapery rod hardware
Look around your room for wood, metal, and paint finishes. Choose a stick finish that completes and balances the elements in your room. The finishes on the end of the stick are like jewelry, and there are many styles to choose from. Let your room inspire you in the selection of finishes that match your decor.
Consider all of your custom road hardware choices
Metal rods are now very popular in polished chrome, brushed nickel, brushed gold, and oiled bronze. Wood rod also shows grain finishes and washed finishes for a textured effect. French rods with acrylic finishes and stick-edged edges are now popular.
The Dubai curtains provide custom rod hardware products that have many more design choices and finish colors than the stock rods you can find in stores.
